The Historical Diving Society (the HDS) was formed in 1990 in the UK by a group of enthusiasts whose aim is to preserve and protect diving heritage. Since then the Society has grown into an international organisation with affiliated national societies across the world.
The Association of Diving Contractors International, Inc. was founded in 1968 by a small group of diving companies. Their goal was to create a non-profit organization that would cultivate and promote the art and science of commercial diving, establish uniform safe standards for commercial divers, and encourage industry-wide observance of these standards
This site contains all sorts of interesting information on commercial diving from its conception till today and the future. Anybody interested in diving, whether they are already in the business or thinking of starting should have a look at this site.
