The Underwater Source is a comprehensive database created to ease the
stresses of the underwater community by providing a time efficient outlet for
commercial diving companies to find the resources necessary to assist them in
all facets of company operations. Finding the equipment, supplies or even
manpower in this specialized industry has proven to be an extremely time
consuming and frustrating task. UWSource was created to ease the
tensions associated with these tasks and help companies ensure that project
goals and objectives are accomplished within their specified time frame. We do
this by providing access to companies who specialize in various fields of the
underwater industry-all in one place. Whether your company is seeking supplies
or material quotes, specialized inspection equipment, cameras, sonar or even
manpower, our search capability allows users to avoid using unwieldy Internet

THE VISION
Scott Bruce, one of the founding partners of UWSource formulated the
idea for a resource-oriented business shortly after joining an underwater
operations company from the aerospace industry. He originally came to the
underwater operations firm to transfer technology and apply skills and
experience learned from the aerospace industry to the underwater arena. As he
tried to use the internet to find resources as part of growing and expanding
the company, he realized the value of a website such as UWSource.com to the
industry. He joined forces with Mr. Chip Spear who has a background in the IT
industry and UWSource was formed.
KEY PERSONNEL
Scott graduated from the U.S. Naval Academy. He was partner and Vice
President of an underwater operations company based in Connecticut. Scott
served for 20 years in the Navy as a Program Manager and System Engineer. He
is professionally certified to the highest level by the Department of Defense
as an "Acquisition Professional" in Program Management, Research Development
Test & Evaluation, and Systems Engineering.
Chip Spear, a Yale graduate, started and owned an event management business
in New York City before moving into the computer industry where he has over 15
years of experience building infrastructure, development and internet based
systems for Fortune 500 companies, universities and Connecticut State
agencies. UWSource is a Connecticut LLC corporation.
After the vision was conceived to create UWSource, Scott Bruce and Chip
Spear needed someone who had the experience to make it all happen! That is
when the team decided to bring Maria Clow on board to act in capacity of
General Manager and run company operations.
Maria has proven dedication to adapting to new environments and
concentrating on the projects - at- hand. She has had the opportunity to
experience the benefits of effective project management and effective people
management. She has successfully acted in the capacity of a Project Manager
for the underwater operations industry as well as serving as a Project
Engineer for the General Construction industry. She has many years of various
management experiences along with a strong basis of knowledge for utilizing
resources, establishing solid work plans, arranging staffing requirements and
meeting budgets and/or financial constraints.
